EV gains, fuel efficiency to cut oil demand growth: IEA

Gains in the vehicle fuel efficiency and increased globalgrowth in the number of electric vehicles on the road willhave a substantial impact in slowing the growth of globaloil consumption this year, the International Energy Agencysaid Wednesday.In its January Oil Market Report, the agency predictedthat the two factors will slow demand growth by about870,000 b/d. The report forecast that global demand willrise by 1.9 million b/d in 2023 to a record 101.7 million b/d.
