The Supreme Court's impending review of the Affordable Care Act of 2010 could be one of the most explosive Supreme Court cases in years-or one of the most anti-climactic. Whatever the result, the high court's commitment to filling its entire court calendar with arguments about the law during the week of March 26,2012, constitutes an extraordinary event. With five and a half hours of arguments over three days, the hearing will be one of the Court's longest in decades. And with the Court's decision expected in late June-just four months before the 2012 national elections-the nine justices will be thrust into the middle of a divisive debate over what is arguably President Barack Obama's signature legislative achievement.
