India's second round of coal block auctions has underwhelmed, with only eight taken out of the 67 on offer. The blocks awarded have an estimated geological reserve (GR) of 848.59 mt. Last month, it was reported 19 blocks had attracted bids through the process that began in February and closed in early August. Adani Group has bought three blocks with GR of 598.71 mt of thermal coal.
