Colour-ringed Ruffs (Philomachus pugnax) and Black-tailed Godwits (Limosa limosa) : two new colour ring projects in The Netherlands

In 2004, two new colour ring-studies on Ruffs and Black-tailed Godwits were started in South West Fryslan, The Netherlands. In the long term we will try to explain breeding and migration patterns of different wader species by studying immuno-competence levels but to begin with we focus on stopover ecology of Ruffs and breeding ecology of Black-tailed Godwits.
