Implications of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement for Australian companies and carbon markets

The implementation and scaling up of cooperative approaches under Art 6, and carbon markets more broadly, is critical to facilitating and accelerating the global transition to net-zero emissions. With growing demand for carbon credits by both countries and the private sector, and interest in developing carbon projects from many sectors of the economy, it is critical that carbon markets adhere to the highest levels of environmental integrity, while promoting sustainable development and safeguarding human rights.
