A NIOSH report outlines the research agenda for its Future of Work initiative, which was introduced in 2019. The initiative aims to address the ongoing changes occurring in the workplace, among the workforce and to the work being done. As a result of these changes, NIOSH says, more research is needed to better understand new and long-standing worker safety, health and well-being issues, and the research agenda is designed to prepare the OSH ecosystem to address those issues. According to NIOSH, the agenda frames the most pressing issues expected to impact the safety and health of tomorrow's workforce across jobs, occupations and industries. The report highlights nine goals, provides background for each and outlines objectives for addressing them. The nine goals are: 1. Improve worker safety, health and well-being outcomes through healthier organizational design policies, programs and practices.
