About a year and a half ago I met a new prospector with enough vim and vigor to run a small power plant. A brand new, high-priced, four-wheel drive vehicle was loaded with a dry washer, gas-powered vacuum, two detectors, blue bowl, and more picks, shovels and other miscellaneous digging equipment to supply an army of canal builders, providing testimony to the severity of his newly caught gold fever. And unloaded outside of said vehicle was a sizeable rock crusher, glistening with its new, never-seen-the-light-of-day, bright yellow paint. Passing his poor, heavily loaded vehicle on the highway I may have likely thought, "Now that's one well-prepared prospector."
