Western Mining Artifact Collectors Show

A year of work and preparation has come and gone as the Western Mining Artifact Show was held this past June 29th at the Miners Foundry in Nevada City, California. It was three days of fun and adventure delighting in the glory of the golden days of California gold mining of long ago. As a collector of antique mining artifacts large and small, I live for these events. We have a group online of several hundred collectors worldwide, but mostly in the US. (See ICMJ Dec. '99, "Collecting Mining Artifacts.") Nevada City was this year's chosen site and it will be again next June. This show moves around every couple of years. The previous two years it was hosted in Park City, Utah, and prior to that in Colorado. This was the first time the show has been this far west and it gave us the opportunity to showcase Northern California and its gold mining history.
