A DREAMSICLE IN SEAFOAM green, it would float over the road, all 202 horses cantering lightly, rocking its slumbering charges with the undulations of the Queen Mary, The ride home from church would take half an hour, but a few minutes after we snapped the chrome buckles around our waists, co-cooned in the tanned hides of a herd, our eyelids would grow heavy, soft snores quickly following, Mom and Dad chatting quietly up front lest they wake us. Only when the wheels finally crunched over the gravel driveway would we stir, though our naps might extend till long after Dad closed the garage door and repaired inside to change out of his Sunday clothes.
