Human-driven climate change is increasingly part of the public conversation -but how do the dramatic changes in our environment affect human health and wellbeing? 'Massive crop failures, new and re-emerging infectious diseases, heat extremes, droughts, mega-storms, floods, and sharply rising sea levels' (p xiii): these human-made changes to our climate are also human health crises. Health of People, Health of Planet and Our Responsibility is the product of a landmark summit of leading thinkers, convened by the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, to put forward a vision for the protection of both human and planetary health.
