As the new co-chair of the Electricity Subsector Coordinating Council (ESCC), I commend my predecessor, Tom Fanning, Southern Company chairman, president, and CEO, for his leadership and his work to advance the ESCC during the years he served as co-chair. Projects like the Cyber-security Risk Information Sharing Program (CRISP), which remains the only sector-specific cybersecurity effort that is threat-informed, have greatly helped to improve the safety and security of our industry. Additionally, Tom's work within the electricity sector-and within the private sector more broadly-to develop more mature collaboration between the federal government and industry has created stronger relationships and a more resilient energy grid.
