Congratulations on an exceptional outline in the September/ October issue on the scope of the organization by its Executive Director, whom I won't be alone in regarding as an irreplaceable asset. Regarding inclusion of STOL and CTOL along with eVTOL, whilst initially agreeing with recent correspondence against the trend, on reflection these additional fields of endeavor warrant an accommodation. None of the investment-worthy eVTOL types out there are optimized for strictly vertical takeoff and landing, let alone the hover. In fact, the express intention of most is to avoid these phases of energy-sapping flight, as did Harrier pilots after witnessing the fuel-consumption. Beside this, research published this same month suggests that eVTOL types are likely to be subject to vortex-ring hazards, and moreso than helicopters. Together such factors combine to ensure that like birds, eVTOLs will pursue departures and arrivals along albeit-steep trajectories.
