摘要

The present paper study the risk of attacking mango hopper (Idioscopus clypealis) and tur pod bug (Clavigralla gibbosa) on mango plant and pigeon pea crop post spray (8 days after) of insecticide in order to determine the insect habit, nature and clustering pattern of mango hoppers and tur pod bug on leaves. Zero inflated Power Series Distributions (ZIPSD) namely Poisson, and negative binomial distribution have been used. The parameter of these are from two estimation methods: (1) proportion of zeroth cell and (2) method of moment. It has been tried to find the expected number of insects (mango hopper and tur pod bug) on leaves using ‘x2 test. The value of parameter, ρ and r were found to be insignificant. Because the value of parameters is greater than zero (> 0), it means all leaves or plant are under the risk of insect attack. The result reveals that both the methods are good for describing the insect attack.
