Ameren has been assigned to build $1.8 billion worth of the gridprojects approved in the Midcontinent Independent System Operator’s first tranche of long-range transmission plan projects, and thecompany has an opportunity to bid for an additional $700 million worthof that portfolio, company officials said Nov. 4.The transmission projects, combined with renewable and gas-firedgeneration included the company’s most recent Missouri integratedresource plan, will boost Ameren’s investment opportunities from $40billion to $48 million over the next decade, Martin Lyons, president andCEO of Ameren, said during the company’s third quarter earnings call.
