The 7th Promise for the Future: School selected All-star Design Showcase Approaching energy-related issues from diverse viewpoints

The theme this year was "Smart life - rethinking energy." People are demanding the revaluation of nuclear power generation and energy resources, not only in Japan in the aftermath of the Great East japan Earthquake, but in various nations around the world as well. In light of this, AXIS Gallery requested students to think about this issue saying, "As long as design is involved in manufacturing, the issue of energy is not something that can be ignored. The role of design in linking advanced technology to general use, and widely enlightening the populace of the right knowledge and information is vital for us to live comfortably and affluently while reducing waste. We defined smart life to be a kind of lifestyle that enables stress-free, simple, and sustainable living while using the energy necessary for life as efficiently as possible. We really wanted the students to get involved in this issue."
