THE red-hot liner sector “may have entered into the normalisation phase”, according to Zim chief executive EliGlickman.New York-listed Zim, the 10th-largest container line, said even though ships were still sailing full, there was asoftening in demand compared to the year-ago period.“We haven’t seen as much rollover cargo that we used to have before,” Mr Glickman told Lloyd’s List, referring tooverbooking of containers that has become an industry norm over the past 18 months. “The demand is holding up quite strong in the in the US, but we are not seeing a massive increase in the bookings like we would haveseen in the same period last year. Still there is demand, and that demand is holding, so our vessels are sailingfull.”
