Ryue Nishizawa's Teshima Art Project - Architecture that harmonizes with art and the environment and transcends the very concept of architecture itself

The Teshima Art Project, in which Ryue Nishizawa is participating as an architect, is an art museum with a considerably unusual format. A single artwork by artist Rei Naito is to be displayed permanently inside the main building. The building is designed for this work alone and the work is produced for the architecture. The main theme of the Teshima Art Project is to integrate architecture and art through communication between the architect and artist.
