Petronas Chemicals Begins Construction On New Melamine Facility in Malaysia

Kedah-Petronas Chemicals Group(PCG)has launched its melamine plant project at the complex of its Petronas Chemicals Fertiliser Kedah Sdn.Bhd.subsidiary in Gurun,Kedah,Malaysia(PCN,14 Feb 2022,p 1).The new 60,000-t/y plant,which will make Petronas the"sole"melamine producer in Southeast Asia,will utilize Casale's Low Energy Melamine technology to enable the plant to operate with high efficiency,especially in terms of energy consumption,PCG noted.Start-up is targeted in 2024.
