The fact three managers who have been involved since the beginning continue to provide guidance as organizers is probably one of the reasons this event maintains its influence. Even if manufacturers in other countries should want to use Designers' Saturday as a model, it would not be so easy to imitate. Nevertheless, perhaps it is a good opportunity to think about what a design event truly should be. It is also a chance to discover that many companies other than Vitra and USM are influencing Swiss design.
