TRAINING DAYS: PORSCHE assesses rising talent during its second Young Driver Academy

IN THE CASE OF four young race-car drivers, what happened to their careers on Sept. 15-16 still qualifies as a rainbow even if there wasn't a pot of gold at the end. The rainbow was two days of training they had as members of the second Porsche Young Driver Academy, both on the track and off at Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama. The pot of gold would have been a factory-funded ride in a Porsche for 2014, but there isn't one available. Still, this amounts to having been endorsed officially by Porsche Motorsport North America as up-and-comers, and even if they don't race out of Porsche's stable next year, this certainly serves as a nice addition to their growing resumes.
