Polysaccharides from Roots of Ferula tenuisecta and Their Antimicrobial Activity

摘要

Various groups of polysaccharides were isolated from roots of Ferula tenuisecta. Their monosaccharide compositions were established. Pectinic substances were determined to have a degree of esterification of 56.25. Antimicrobial activity was found for water-soluble polysaccharides against Gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus) and Gram-negative (Escherichia coli and Klebsiella oxitoca 1) and spore-forming bacteria (Bacillus subtilis).
