ERCOT power dailies spike

In the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, power dailies on July6 trended higher for July 7 delivery despite stable demand andtemperatures, as the natural gas Transco Zone 3 contract priced31.62 higher. On the InterContinental Exchange, the North HubDay-ahead on-peak price for July 7 delivery spiked up $46.50 to pricearound $115.25/ MWh. The real-time on-peak contract rose closeto $45.50 to price around $114.50/MWh, and the real-time off-peakcontract also increased $3.50 to price at $44.50/MWh. Meanwhile,ERCOT real-time on-peak balance of the week contract for July 8climbed about $57.50 to price at $217.50/MWh.
