On the Ascent Ind. 2Q2023 earnings call, the Company pointed out that the closure of their Munhall, PA plant, which mostly produced galvanized pipe and tube, allowed them to focus more on Bristol Metals and American Stainless Tubing - the Company’s two stainless pipe and tube producing operations. It was noted in the call that there were industry-wide destocking trends and meaningful import pressures. As a side note, imports to date in 2023 were actually lower than in the same period in 2022 and year-to-date pricing was comparable.
