Indiana Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch and the Indiana Hous- ing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA) have announced COVID-19 impact grants to assist Indiana's low-income communities in preventing, preparing for, and responding to the pandemic. IHCDA is awarding approximately $100,000 to each of the six Indiana non-profit organizations that are committed to meet specific outcomes for low-income families and communities. To receive funding, these organizations submitted their plan to achieve an outcome in one of the following areas: 1.1 financial well-being, 1.2 safe and affordable housing, 1.3 access to health/mental health services, 1.4 transportation to community services and 1.5 community coordination. The grant awardees for the 2021 COVID-19 Impact Grant are: 2.1 Hoosier Uplands Economic Development Corp.: Transportation Assistance Program 2.2 NeighborLink Indianapolis Foundation, Inc.: COVID Recovery Initiative 2.3 Senior Citizen and Homeowner Assistance Foster Success: Financial Literacy Initiative for Foster Youth 2.4 Prosperity Indiana: Increasing Financial Resource Alternatives to Payday Lending 2.5 Fathers and Families Resource and Research Center, Inc.: Workforce Development for At-risk Single Fathers 2.6 YWCA of Northeast Indiana, Inc.: Mental Health and Substance Abuse Disorder Treatments The funding for these projects was provided through the Coronavirus, Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act through the Community Service Block Grant (CSBG).
