A 61-year-old man visited our clinic, complaining of itchy and painful erythematous on his left chest for the past 2 weeks. In the previous month, he had suffered from herpes zoster without post-herpetic neuralgia. The erythematic lesions were covered with scales and situated atop the healing remnants of the herpes zoster, corresponding to the left dermatomes of C8-T3 (Figure 1a and b). Further examination revealed similar lesions on the patient's trunk, face and the extensor aspects of both elbows. Post-herpetic lesion dermoscopy showed white scales and regularly arranged dotted and hairpin-like vessels; however, no blisters or pustules were present (Figure 1c).
