A SEAPORT on Launceston's Tamar River has been redeveloped to create a community retreat on the waters edge. The Old Launceston Seaport project is an integration of facilities and functions incorporating lifestyle, restaurants and community interaction. The focal point of the new development is the Seaport Apartments which are stepped back from a new boardwalk running along the river's edge. The apartments, designed by local firm Artas Achitects, have been designed to blend in with the surrounds and offer occupants expansive views. Building materials and colours create a fully integrated site. However, the apartments are still able to achieve individual styles, largely through the design of the roof.
