The Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) has awarded a $50,000 grant to New Development Corporation, a local nonprofit in Grand Rapids that will deploy the funds to help more neighbors in their community make energy efficient home repairs. MSHDA is moving forward with key housing initiatives after Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed the Building Michigan Together Plan into law in March. The plan includes some of the largest infrastructure investments in Michigan history and will send $654 million to MSHDA to support existing rental and homeowner programs. It also paves the way for more housing and associated programs in underserved urban and rural areas in Kent County.
