Euclidean field theory and singular classical field configurations

Euclidean field theory on a three-dimensional sphere is suggested for the study of high energy multiparticle production. The singular classical field configurations are found in scaler phi(4) and SU(2) gauge theories, and the cross-section of 2 --> n is calculated. It is shown that the cross-section has a maximum at an energy comparable with that of the sphaleron mass. (C) 2000 Academic Press. [References: 24]
