It's approximately two years since the acquisition of McCloskey by Metso - not long afterwards the global pandemic occurred and impacted everyone's lives and business. McCloskey has numerous equipment ranges that it produces, from crushers and screens to stackers and feeders, and Toni Laaksonen, senior vice president of McCloskey International, says that once conversations between the brands started the acquisition occurred, "Definitely faster than we expected. "The fit was recognised by both parties, so we were very well aligned about this strategy, so already in that first meeting we said that our approach would be this multibrand set up. We want to keep the brand, we want to continue to develop the brand and we want to expand it." Equipment sales have been strong across construction, helped by many countries investing in projects and large-scale infrastructure schemes, and this sector is no different. "This year looks like a record-breaking year in the whole history of McCloskey, so in that sense we are doing very well. On top of the normal growth areas, we have been starting to invest in Asia, and we are expanding our presence in India, which is also one part of the growth story."
