摘要

The overall effect of intercrops were depressing to the population build up of jassid though leaf damage was comparatively high and not in proportion to the population count of the hoppers/3 leaves of three selected green gram plants from each plot. However, the best companion crops were sesamum (2.89 jassid/3 leaves & 12.7% cumulative leaf damage), sorghum (3.1 & 14.0%), okra (3.8 & 14.3%) and pearl millet (3.9 & 14.8%). Intercrop of pigeon pea resulted in jassid population on par to that of pearl millet. Population build up was not always in accordance with the leaf damage recorded in different intercrop combinations and different year of observations.
