Using trees to halt soil salinity

摘要

AN INFORMATION package is being developed to provide farmers and the community with guidelines on how best to use trees to overcome the worrying trend of salinisation in significant farming areas of Australia. This will be the outcome of a jointly funded project by the Rural Industries, Land and Water Resources and Forest and Wood Product research and development corporations (RIRDC, LWRRDC and FWPRDC). The work is being conducted/in four states by staff of three CSIRO divisions and an additional five state agencies.
