摘要

INITIAL surveys support the view that the millions of dollars spent revegetating farms to reverse land degradation in recent years has also had big benefits for wildlife -- as hoped. In 1995, Birds Australia, previously the Royal Australasian Ornithologists Union, began the Birds on Farms (BOF) project. Director David Baker-Gabb says planting done for productivity is now being assessed for wildlife benefits. "We want to know which of the many and varied techniques have been the most useful," he says.
