Heavy snowfall and rain are forecast to hit large parts of China from 20 January, which may weigh on coal supplies ahead of the country’s lunar new year holiday that ofcially begins on 31 January. China will experience snowfall and rain from 20 January in the country’s central and eastern regions, according to the China Meteorological Administration (CMA). Heavy snowfall is expected to hit parts of Shanxi and Shaanxi, China’s largest coal-producing provinces. South China provinces like Guangxi, Hunan and Jiangxi will experience heavy rainfall.
