This paper proposes a sustainable solution for the recycling of sludges produced during stainless steel pickling by pyrohydrolysis. The sludge contains heavy metals and toxic compounds that are challenging to handle and dispose of, leading to additional costs and environmental pollution. Pyrohydrolysis treatment involves subjecting the sludge to high temperatures to convert it into metal oxides and recover the bounded acids. The appropriate slurrying and careful dosing of the sludge suspension in a reactor ensure that all liquid and solid components are roasted and recovered. The proposed method presents a sustainable approach to reducing environmental pollution and improving economic efficiency.
