Comparative efficacy of neem biopesticides on Brinjal aphid

摘要

Brinjal (Solarium melongena L.) is an important vegetable crop, contributes to 9% of total vegetable production. It is attacked by a number of insect pests and Aphis gossypii is considered as an important one. Therefore the present study was carried out in vitro. Various concentrations i.e. 0.1, 0.25 and 0.5% of bio pesticides namely, ozoneem, neemarin, neemexcel and m-aza were prepared. Fresh brinjal leaves were taken and dipped in these concentrations, the leaves were dried placed in Petri dishesand in each Petri dish, ten 3rd instar unitary nymphs were released, replicated thrice with untreated control (Water dipped). The number of dead nymphs were recorded at 5th 7th and 9th day of the commencement of the study.
