Integrated management of cumin wilt induced by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cumini.

A field trial was conducted on integrated management of cumin [Cuminum cyminum] wilt, caused by F. oxysporum f.sp. cumini, in Durgapura, Rajasthan, India, during rabi 2008-11. The treatments comprised T1-Bavistin [carbendazim] as seed treatment (ST) at 2 g/kg, T2-Bavistin as ST at 1 g/kg+Trichoderma viride (Tv) as ST at 6 g/kg, T3-Vermicompost (Ver) as soil application (SA) at 1.5 t/ha+neem [Azadirachta indica] cake (NC) as SA at 0.5 t/ha+Bavistin as ST, T4-Ver as SA+NC as SA+Bavistin as ST at 1 g/kg seed+Tv as ST, T5-NC as SA+Bavistin as ST at 2 g/kg seed, T6-NC as SA+Bavistin at 1 g/kg seed+Tv as ST, T7-NC as SA, T8-NC as SA+Tv as ST, T9-NC as SA+Ver as SA, T10-Tv as SA at 2.5 kg/ha, and T11-control. All the treatments were found significantly superior in decreasing the disease and increasing the yield. The minimum disease incidence of 5.6% and highest yield of 6.25 q/ha was found in T3, which was on par with T2, T4, T5 and T9. In the control, the PDI was 26.8% and the yield was 1.87 q/ha.
