Among the major constraints in the production of soybean, anthracnose caused by Colletotrichum dematium var. truncata, is one of the serious diseases under warm and humid conditions (Minnautullah & Kumar, 2005). C. dematium f. sp. truncata has been found to have great variation in mycelial growth and sporulation on different media, temperature and pH levels (Sharma et al., 2005). Hence, this study was undertaken. The pathogen was isolated from the naturally infected pods of soybean on PDA. Six agar media (Table 1) were used. Twenty ml of each sterilized media was poured in sterilized Petri plates of 90 mm dia. with four replications.
