On the shore of Lake Geneva,a giant drop of water is suspended. As it falls, will it disturb the wave and splash the quays? This new lighthouse is figurative, but it should not be reduced to a pop sculpture. It is an object that combines poetry and technology. It also completes the collection of singular objects around it,halfway between the imagination of the high seas and the organs of the great basins. In essence, the lighthouse must impose itself as a vertical landmark, but it plays mischievously with contrasting forms.A base, organically linked to the pier, calls to mind a rocky deformation of the ground.Above, the register of the"drop of water"is much more evanescent. This all-encompassing form may appear as one piece, but it is not a block.Inspired by the procedures of naval architecture, its organization includes a central mast, circular floors of different diameters, and as a single piece of cover,a light fiberglass composite hull, the material of the most efficient multihulls, and other"Formula 1s of the sea"-all supported by a lightweight fittings system.
