Each year, the NSCA Foundation hosts the NSCA Foundation and GIO Workers Compensation National Safety Awards of Excellence, celebrating outstanding workplace health and safety initiatives. The event provides an opportunity for companies to pause and reflect on how far they have come during difficult times, while honouring those that have gone above and beyond to promote workplace health and safety. Two such organisations are the Murrumbidgee Local Health District and WaterNSW, who won the GIO Workers Compensation Award lor Excellence in WHS (otherwise known as the Pinnacle Award). This prestigious award is presented annually to the most outstanding achievement in work health and safety for an organisation, an alliance or an individual. The Pinnacle Award is not open for nominations and is instead selected from among the 11 category winners of the National Safety Awards of Excellence.
