Lighting designers may often dismiss surface-mounted as too obtrusive (or just too plain ugly) to be a viable choice in a lighting scheme. But, with recent improvements in technology, batteries and design, could they be missing a trick? Thanks to LED and compact battery technology, surface-mounted emergency lighting can now answer the need for lighting designers to have emergency light fittings that are both functional and unobtrusive.
