A competition called for a public art object to be erected near a new urban district, in the middle of Denver's not yet completed Central Park, against the breath-taking backdrop of the Colorado Mountains. Architect Volkan Alkanoglu (who studied in Berlin, Duesseldorf, and London) convinced the jury with his design for a pavilion that offers a space to linger in, to gaze in astonishment, and to look at the mountain peaks.
