Shear Express concept continues to tantalise wool producers

THE CONCEPT of the mechanised I sequential defleecing of sheep was I the brainchild of a man called Fred Wybrow, back in 1991. For the next four years Wybrow continued to develop concepts for wool harvesting, then in 1995 he formed the company Chain Shearing Pty Ltd with a group of private investors. Trading as The Wool Harvesters, the group set out to demonstrate that sequential defleecing could be a commercially viable operation. By 1999, two static, and one truck-mounted prototype had been built.
