Livestock Production Assurance - the new on-farm QA scheme

A new Quality Assurance (QA) scheme for Australia's livestock industry is well on its way to being implemented, with a proposed starting date set for early 2004. The new scheme, Livestock Production Assurance (LPA), is the result of a major industryreview of on-farm QA last year, which recommended the implementation of a simplified approach to on-farm QA. The development of the LPA scheme has been undertaken by a steering committee representing key red meat and livestock industry bodies that have agreed to standards, which will underpin the new LPA scheme.
