THE INTERNET is all the rage, and farmers, like most Australians are joining in. Ultimately, the usefulness of the system 'depends on its content. So just what is on the Australian section of World Wide Web for fanners? To answer this question, a study was recently commissioned by the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation (RIRDC) to find out. Researchers Jim Groves and Jenny Da Rin found 206 Australian World Wide Web sites of relevance -- a reasonable amount of technical production information for some industries and some commercial information on farm machinery.
