Even though Nuremberg is the second largest city in Bavaria with more than half a million inhabitants, you can easily forget how large the city is when the picturesque Old Town is right in front of you. The Imperial castle Kaiser-burg is in parts almost a thousand years old. The famous painter Albrecht Durer born in 1471 is inextricably linked with Nuremberg and you can visit his home and workshop in the old town which remains unchanged from its original state.
