摘要

Investigations have shown that traffic in modern computer networks is self-similar and longrange dependent, unlike the traditional type of simplest traffic. In the present article a simulation model is proposed that describes self-similar traffic in high-speed computer networks based on the superposition of several flows generated by ON/OFF sources. The simulated flow is used to produce the basic performance characteristics of network subsystems. The results are compared with estimates of subsystems obtained in the traditional M/M/1 model.
