Houston-LyondellBasell said it is evaluating a project to expand propylene production capacity at its Channelview complex near Houston, Texas, by more than 35%. The proposed project would involve building a 400,000-t/y propylene plant, based on the company's existing technology, to convert ethylene into propylene for use in the production of polypropylene and propylene oxide. A final investment decision is planned towards the end of 2023.
