An incidental finding of uterine leiomyoma in panthera pardus

© 2020 Indian Veterinary Assocaition. All rights reserved.An 18 years old captive female leopard died with the history of respiratory distress at Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Borivali, Mumbai. The detailed post mortem examination was carried out in the necropsy facility of the same National Park. The gross examination revealed severely congested visceral organs viz., liver, heart. Incidentally, multiple nodular growths were observed in the uterus. Microscopically, congestion was observed in visceral organs. Uterine section revealed the intertwining fascicles of the neoplastic smooth muscles. The nuclei were prominent and numerous nucleoli were present. Based on the gross and histopathological examination the neoplasm was Identified as uterine leiomyoma.
