Global grain and food prices have experienced an incredibly volatile past 12 months. Record prices have been made in sugar, corn and pork as well as cotton, which have all combined to put world food prices at record high levels. That's good news fromthe perspective of a major world food-exporting nation such as Australia, but it also raises a number of questions such as 'what's driving the current high prices' and 'are the current high prices sustainable'.
