Prepare worm agenda now for spring

Autumn is the time to develop cattle and sheep wormcontrol programs for the entire year. Strategies can be put in place in April and May to significantly reduce impact on most susceptible classes of livestock in winter and spring. The 'A' months (April and August) are two important months to consider treating sheep and cattle for liver fluke. April is the most important time as liver fluke finds it difficult to complete its life-cycle once the cold weather has started. So, once the frosts start in earnest (whether April or May), consider a liver fluke treatment if fluke is on your farm.
